Portfolio, Pt 1

This may not (probably won't) be the series of photos I turn in for our first portfolio assignment, but I spent all afternoon yesterday photographing Scotsgrove (I liked and saved 114 photos, if that tells you anything), and I'm going to take a stab at sifting through them and making a put-together "series".  Please tell me what you think!!!

Environmental Portraits (take 2)

Prof. Hiott gave us another try at environmental portraiture.  I went to the Renaissance Festival in Charlotte, NC this past weekend, so I decided to take my camera there.  I think it was much more successful because I had a better idea of what the portraits should look like.  I also had what I guess is a normal photographer's experience: I took over 200 photos at the Fair.  I am keeping about 65 (not all of which are environmental portraits though! I will put the rest up on Facebook)

Here they are!

1. Canon EOS 450D, F# 7.1, SS 1/160

2. Canon EOS 450D, F# 5, SS 1/200 (I had to edit the exposure way down because the original was overexposed)

3. Canon EOS 450D, F# 5, SS 1/80

4. Canon EOS 450D, F# 5, SS 1/180 (This is Zilch, the Tory Steller.  I wish he hadn't moved and blurred a bit, but this photo showed the best environment.)

 5. Canon EOS 450D, F# 5, SS 1/30 (It took forever to get the image to not blur.  And, even with a shutter speed of 1/30, I still had to "expose" it a bit more in Preview.)

Portraiture #3

TO BE EDITED.

Sorry, guys.  I have the photos, but I won't be able to upload them until before class tomorrow!!  They are ready and waiting.... I just need the internet connection.  I know--excuses, excuses... but it takes literally 5 minutes at school, and nearly an hour here at home.  Very annoying... So, come back to see them photos!!

OKAY! Photos!!  These are all of David, my boyfriend.  He was a sweetheart and let me photograph him even after working third shift and 3.5hrs of sleep.  Then we got silly and made some Halloween faces.

Portraiture #2

And then our homework assignment was to take some environmental portraits.  My sister and her husband allowed me to take photos of them (I will post those later).  I also included one of my mother at her desk prior to the assignment, but it is an environmental portrait.

Portraiture

Sorry for the slow updating.  The internet at home has been pretty awful lately.  And rainy weather doesn't help!!!

Anyway, last Thursday, our class went over to the school photographer's studio to practice our portrait pictures.  These are some of my favorites.
